back structure fires

On Thursday afternoon,
March 1, around 16:00 hours, Wayne County Communications dispatched
the 4302 box assignment to the 200 block of White Rock Drive in Clinton
Township for the reported structure fire. Chief 43A marked on scene with
fire showing from the chimney area of the split level single family dwelling.
Engine 43 and the Tower Ladder look position on side A/B with
Engine 41 picking up Engine 43's line. All other companies on the box were
staged on Route 247. After extinguishing the fire in the chimney,
a wall was opened looking for extension. All companies retained to service
within about 45 minutes.
On the Box:
Engines 43, 41, 281, 13-3, Tankers 75, 94, 28, and 13, Tower Ladder 43,
Ladder 13 and Forest City EMS.
Chief 43A (R. Richards)
had the command. Chief 41 (Prince)) coordinated the water supply
with Chief 41A (Daugevelo) taking Division 1, Captain 43 (Debevec) took
the Basement division, with the Tower Chauffeur (Ellsworth) taking the
Roof Division. Chief 59 (Hallowich) was assigned RIT.

After returning to service,
the Tower Ladder, Engine and the car were dispatched to a working trailer
fire in Mount Pleasant Township on Memorial Links Drive. Engine 28-4 marked
on scene with a working fire. Engine 28-1, the second due engine
provided its tank water until Engine 52 reversed laid about 1000' of 5'
to a nearby stream. |
Tower Ladder 43 forced entry
into the structure, opened up and completed the primary and secondary
searches which proved negative. The fire was quickly knocked by the 28
Engine crew. After extensive overhaul, companies returned to service at
20:00 hours.
Chief 28 (Nebzydoski)
had the command. Chief 43A (R. Richards) had the Attack Group, while Chief
43 (D. Richards) coordinated the exterior group. Chief 52 handled
the water supply group.
