Wayne Co. Communications dispatched  Box  4307 (Elk Lake) on October 5,  a Friday afternoon at 2:30,  for a fire in a one and a half story wood frame. Chief 43A established the Elk Lake Command. 

The blaze originated in the kitchen while the occupant was cooking. The fire extended into division two of the home. The occupant was out of the residence on arrival of the first fire apparatus.

The damage was limited to the kitchen area the area directly above the kitchen. All companies returned to service at 15:30 hours. On the box: Chief 43A, Engines 43, 75, 41 and 12, Tankers 75, 94, 12 and 13, Tower 13, Car 43, Rescue 59, Mini-pumper 94 and Waymart EMS.
